Just earlier today me and my brother have agreed to buy season passes to six flags to go with him and other family members on the weekends this summer. My brother then asked me the dreaded question of how much do i weight because he wanted to go to a few attractions with me that had weight limits.I wanted to be honest with him and tell him straight up that I'm 320 pounds but it was as if my mouth forced me to lie by telling him 302(As if that was going to make much of a difference to his reaction looking back on it).

The reason I'm bringing this up is because I wanted to ask everyone on FA about their experiences with attractions at waterparks(Six flags in particular)

Do they weight you with a scale before you go in one or do they just judge your weight by your appearance?

If they do use a scale,is it for everyone else to see or very discrete between you and the employee?

P.S Last time I went to a water park was when I was 10 and I dont remember anything

I would check on the water park’s website. They should be pretty clear about what the restrictions are. I also seriously doubt they have scales out though.

There might be some rides where you’d want to pay attention to height/weight restrictions for safety reasons. Mass and velocity are real things. But most of the park is open to most people, I’m sure.

Usually, rides go by if you can fit into them instead of weight. I know that some rides have a weight limit, but those are rare.

I haven’t been to 6 flags but I have been to places known for their rides and in my experience it was all if the harness could close my chest wouldn’t allow it to close so I had to sit out on most of the rides the good news is that there’s ton of fair food and plenty of places to sit and stuff but then again idk bout 6 flags. So unless you plan on eating for a day in fair grounds and waiting for your friends who can ride rides it’s not gonna be worth it for you, unless your don’t have a big chest

An update on my six flags situation

Thank you for those who responded to my my post and heres what ive found after my first trip at six flags

1.Six flags does infact weight you before a ride and its an enforced rule. All waterpark rides that have a weight limit have to weight you on a scale before going on the ride.The only credit that I'll give six flags is that they make it as discreet as possible by not showing your weight to anybody else except the employee and they make it as clear as possible to you that they will 100% weight you at the front,as well as how much you can weight right at the entrance of each part of the waterpark

2.If you weight over 300 pounds,your options are very limited to what attractions you can hop on.Out of the 6 different attractions i went to, i was only able to hop on 2 of them because they were the only rides that had a weight limit of 700 and 800 pounds.The only reason they had such a very high weight limit was because the ride was meant to be ridden with 2 to 4 people.All others waterparks attractions had a 300 pound weight limit tho which I was unable to go on since I'm 330 pounds

3.Im not 100% sure this applys to all other rollercoasters since i only went on 1 called the Boomerang but I dont think any of them have a weight limit. The only limitation it does have is if your too big to fit in the seat or your belly is so big that it prevents the safety latches to close.In my case, I was just barely able to fit in by squeezing in my belly.

I've been to water parks twice as an adult and enjoyed both times. One trip was to the Six Flags near Houston. I was around 370 pounds, and I knew I'd be too fat for most rides because I have a huge belly. I did enjoy myself though, cooling off periodically by sitting in various pools and eating tons of park food in my bikini. I don't recall if they weighed folks or not, but I do remember a height and weight limit being posted at the gate for most attractions.

In high school, I went to Busch Gardens with a friend's family. It was the summer I blew up by about 75 pounds over break, and I didn't realize how fat I was getting. I was only fourteen, but I was already too big for anything that had a bar across the chest or a harness.
